Matriclysm: First Mother

Fiberglass core, with hand-woven and threaded skin, sculpted in collaboration with Patrick Bongoy. Exposed to weather, the Hessian thread skin will swell and disintegrate, becoming host to volunteer flora and fauna. The sculpture references the so-called “mitochondrial mother”, the mother of all mothers to whom all human chromosomes can be traced.
