ATLANTIC CITY, NJ --- Jewel, a four-time Grammy nominated singer-songwriter, will perform live in a family-themed show featuring such skating stars as Olympic gold medalists Ekaterina Gordeeva and Ilia Kulik along with two-time Olympic medalist Nancy Kerrigan and many more. All of the skaters, and Jewel herself, are parents and both children and parents will be featured in the show.
Tickets for the Musselman’s Apple Sauce Family Skating Tribute presented by Caesars Atlantic City are on sale now. The show is set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2012 in Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall. Tickets are priced from $25 to $125 and will be available at the Boardwalk Hall Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-736-1420.
Hosted by skating champions (and parents) Kristi Yamaguchi and Michael Weiss, the star-studded cast features Olympian and world champion Todd Eldredge, the new proud parent of a baby boy, world ice dancing champion Shae-Lynn Bourne, three-time U.S. pair champions and world medalists Jenni Meno and Todd Sand, world pair champion Isabelle Brasseur and two-time U.S. pair champion Rocky Marval, five-time Italian champion and Olympian Silvia Fontana and her husband, John Zimmerman, a three-time U.S. pairs champion and Olympian. Fontana and Zimmerman are the proud parents of Sofia, who was born in April 2012.
Jewel is also a mom to son, Kase, who was born in July 2011. Jewel released an album of lullabies, which features 11 self-penned songs and a few standards including “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” and “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” followed by a second children’s album, The Merry Goes Round in 2011. Her exquisite and enchanting voice gives even the most timeless pieces new meaning.
“I am so excited to be performing songs from my children’s albums and sharing the songs I wrote for my son Kase with other parents and children.” said Jewel.
The combination of stellar skating and beautiful music will come alive with both children and adults bringing the magic of parenthood to life on the ice in this one-of-a-kind show.
The show will be broadcast nationally on NBC Nov. 18 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. EST. as part of the Pandora NBC Skating Series. This network television special will be co- promoted by Disson Skating and StarGames which for the past two years co-produced Caesars Tribute - A Salute to the Golden Age of American Skating and Caesars Tribute II - A Salute to the Ladies of the Ice.
