25 years. Boom. I remember the day my first album came out. It was like whispering a prayer into the wind. The wind carries it and you have no idea if it will get answered. You have to give it time.

As I look back, I can’t believe the life I have had. Crazy levels of fame, success and traveling the globe.

The thing that stands out the most to me on all of this is you guys. I always knew fame would come and go - like seasons - nothing is permanent or fixed. It evolves. Mostly at 19 and 20 I wanted the right to evolve as a human. I fought for that right - to be authentic, flawed, and most of all an artist. Living in the public eye is very hard, but you all made it not only livable - but connected. I believed in you as much as you believed in me. You carried me and saw me through different seasons of my art when others couldn’t get it. Pop? Country? What is she doing?! But you all knew... I wanted to be free. If we can’t be free in art, what’s the point of doing it?

Our shared journeys, our shared humanity, our struggle to feel free inside ourselves, to help others - this is what makes us - us. The day we all stood up at the height of cynicism and said - we care.

I have so much more to say about it all- but this will have to do for now.

Alan Bershaw has been busy at work creating the ultimate expanded reissue of Pieces Of You, which will be coming your way later this year... I will let him tell you all about it!
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Hi All,

I’ve worked on countless archival recordings and reissue projects over the years, but to say I’ve been looking forward to this particular reissue project would be the understatement of the year! I’ve been salivating at the thought for at least five years now, so when Jewel finally unleashed me, I was raring to go! I’m excited for this massive project to finally see the light of day - thanks in no small part to the folks at the renowned reissue company Craft Recordings. Their motto is “Craft creates thoughtfully curated packages, with a meticulous devotion to quality and a commitment to preservation.” Those goals mirror my own, so it’s been an extreme pleasure working with such like-minded individuals on this expanded reissue project for her debut album.

It’s been quite the adventure journeying back to the creation of this now classic album, which would unexpectedly reach millions of listeners and change the trajectory of my life. It was the dawn of the internet and digital recording was still in it’s infancy. To even begin to address these recording sessions required dealing with several antiquated formats, both analog and digital, but you’ll be pleased to know that we have located and meticulously transferred everything.

What I envisioned for this 25th anniversary deluxe reissue was to create a comprehensive package that will provide listeners a vivid insider’s look at Jewel’s creative process and how this now classic album came to be. I can’t wait for all of you that have been touched or influenced by this album to wrap your ears around THIS. And for all of our hard-core old-school EDA friends out there, this literally is the moment you’ve been patiently waiting for - and it’s going to be so worth the wait!
