Hi all,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, so please forgive me if it isn't. I'm new here.

I love jewels music and she seems very genuine as a person as well, but my post is a personal one. I hope you don't mind.

I'm trying to find info on my grandfather, whom I never met. He died at age 45, when my mom was a little girl.

My mom died when I was a teenager, at age 45 as well. My grandmother is also gone. She was divorced from my grandad when he died, and didn't want to talk about him.

Lately I've been wanting to do a family tree, and I have some info on my grandfather. He was a country musician in Texas, born in oklahoma, his name is Ernest Ray.

His brother Buddy Ray was a very successful actor appearing in "Raintree Country", Jailhouse Rock","Giant", "A Star is Born", etc. and musician, being the first to record with an electric violin. I'm hoping this info will jog some memories.

He played with The Texas Playboys,Oklahoma melody Boys, and oklahoma Night Riders, among other's.

I really want to find out about them. The reason I thought of Jewel is because I thought her dad played in country bands, although he's much younger than my grandfather of course.

I noticed at Buddy Rays funeral one of the pallbearers last name is Kessler. And i thought that was her dads last name.

Anyway sorry for my rambling. I'm trying every thing I can to find someone who knows one of them.

I can't afford to join ancestry.com.Smiley

I appreciate any help I can get! Thanks!!

Hi all,
I just relized I spelled Jewels dads last name wrong. Sorry!!

But the rest applies.Smiley
In case you're wondering, my mom was an only child, and my grandmother's sibilings are all gone now.

My father won't talk about my moms side of the family, they were divorced when I was 12.

Hope this isn't too much information, but thats why I'm having a hard time finding someone to answer these questions.

I don't know where anybody on his side of the family. I know they live in texas and Oklahoma more than likely.

I won't bother you again about this.Smiley
Thanks!
