Heartbreaking News from Jewel..

Well, as many of you know I have been having trouble with my knees after rehearsing long hours for Dancing With The Stars. The doctors thought I had tendonitis, but when I wasn't feeling better after some rest, I decided to get an MRI. When I heard the results I was in utter disbelief. The doctors told me that not one, but both of my legs were fractured!! He said my left one was particularly bad, and that I had to not only stop dancing, but stop walking and use crutches!!! He said I had just over done it with the rehearsals and training over the past few weeks and so my muscles became fatigued and transferred the overload of stress to the bones in my leg - causing the stress fractures! He says that type of injury can happen when athletes step up the amount or intensity of their training.  Typical me- I throw myself 1000% into anything I do- that's how I went from being homeless to where I am today- but I just had no idea I could over-do dancing!

Shock does not begin to describe it. I am heartbroken to say I will not be competing in this season of Dancing With the Stars. I'm sad I won't get to go through the rest of the experience competing with my husband, Ty. I don't really know what to say. I am sad and mad and disappointed and just blown away at all that has happened. I also feel particularly upset for my partner Dmitry. This is his first season on the show and he put so much work and thoughtful effort into training me. I really wanted America to see what a great dancer, choreographer and teacher he is. This wasn't the way I wanted to go, but my health must come first. And so it is with regret I will not be able to compete this season, but I will be there to cheer my husband on every step of the way- he will just have to dance for the both of us now!

The good news is that my doctors say with rest and care, I will recover completely with no long-term damage. I hope I will be able to come back and compete on the show another season after my injury heals and get the chance to team up with Dmitry once again to show America our cha-cha!  xxj

Awwww........... thats awful! I'll be praying for you and I hope you get better soon! Maybe they will let you compete on another season! Nancy O'Dell is having to drop out too. This whole thing is crazy! But, you do need to rest and get better and the good news is you won't have any long term damage. Good luck!
Megan018 | March 5, 2009
I'm so sad too:( But now we can all cheer for Ty to win:) Take care and keep resting...
Lara | March 5, 2009
How disappointing!! You must be one tough cookie to have fractured both legs and not know it! Hope your feeling as good as new soon. I will still be watching and routing for Ty!

NOOO!!!! That is so sad!!!! I can't believe you messed up your legs that badly! Well, it is smart to stop dancing and heal so you don't make anything any worse. This is so sad to hear, but I'm looking forward to seeing you on another season! All of my votes are going to Ty now! Get better soon, we love you!
AshleyLauren | March 5, 2009
Oh this is sooooo sad :( Rest up and I'll be watching out for you in the audience every week.
Leapbaby | March 5, 2009
Your health definitely comes first! Hope you make a quick recovery!! And like Ashley said, at least now we don't have to split our votes between you and Ty! :)

I'm so sorry to hear this news! I was very much looking forward to watching you strut your stuff on the dance floor. I am a HUGE fan of yours and wanted to vote a gazillion times for you. I will however pass those gazillion votes over to Ty. :) Feel better soon!!

You're physical well being is the most important thing. And I wish you the best in your recovery! You will get better, and compete in another season and I along with all your fans will be there to cheer you on!
I was planning on cheering and voting for both you and Ty but now will just be voting for Ty! So he'll have to step up his game to dance for both of you :)
I'm sorry you won't be competing but, there will be another season, may be even next season? At least you're heal completely and be able to Cha Cha again!

Jewel I too am saddened because I have never watched this show in its entirety and I was only gonna watch it because of You! I have followed you since "Pieces of You" I am 26 now and still your music remains near me Always! I am now a father of triplets and am looking forward to your Lullaby album. Thank you for continuing to enlighten me and the rest of the world with your talent, song writing abilities, and tender-beautiful voice. -Ortiz

Jewel,
I am so sad to hear about that. Really that was the reason I was going to watch DWTS this season. But I will tune in to cheer on you husband. Please take care of yourself. I'm glad the doctors caught it so that you won't have permanent disability. Take care, and please do a concert in LA or the OC while you're recouperating (on a stool, of course.)
Hopefully we'll get to see you and Dmitry next season.
Peace & good health to you and Ty.

Oh my, Jewel, I can only imagine how you must feel.
*
When things like this happen, I can't help but go towards the teaching and healing words of surrendering to what it is.
*
It's as if the more difficult a situation is, the intensity of what we learn from it is equally balanced out. Soooo much healing energy I am sending your way Jewel, get ready Jewel here it comes*******

Oh darn...I hope you aren't in too much pain?
I'm sure you are disappointed because
you seemed so exited about dancing.
I guess the rest is best now...
Don't be sad though...
I'm sure you know your fans adore you
and would carry you to the stage if they
had to...
and in the true Buddhist fashion...
as you look around you...
You know...
No matter what problem you may face...
it could always be worse.
Right?

I am so sad to hear about your injury. I hope you can do another season as well. I too have only watched bits and pieces of the show but was going to watch the whole thing because of the two of you. I will still cheer Ty on. I hope you get better soon! Again your show was so amazing Feb. 10th I wish i would have known about the Turlock show sooner i would have loved to go to that one as well i live in Oakdale and go to school at the University in Turlock! oh well, next time.
Randi | March 5, 2009
Aw Jewel!!!! We will still be cheering on Ty all the way!
MicheleMarie | March 5, 2009
Your health comes first. But man oh man....that's a bummer. I'll definitely vote for Ty though!!!! Like I've said before, you gotta stick to the "soulja boy" Jewel. I mean you might go the wrong way like Jeff and I and bump into someone but *shakes head* nothing like this lol. I'm just being silly. but I hope you get better!! and I can't wait to see you in the audience. Oh!! And I'll be giving some votes over to Dmitry as well. :D
PS. We all know you would've won anyway ;)
Nicole | March 5, 2009
AWW I'm so sorry to hear this! You are in my prayers. I will be cheering Ty on!
lynngazzoli | March 5, 2009
So sorry to hear you won't be on the show, but like you said, maybe you can compete next year. I read today that supposedly Holly Madison is going to be on the show now. I kind of hope that is not true. Best wishes to Ty on the competition and I hope he wins! I am looking forward to your new album very much, I can't wait for it to be released! Raven was such a beautiful song, and I know the others will be just as good :-D

Oh my gosh, I'm soo sad and disapointed. I can't believe you won't be competing. When I found out you were in the cast, I was so over happy I couldn't describe and now I'm crushed. Of course your health comes first and I hope you get well. Hopefully, Ty will be great and you can compete in a different season. :(
BelindaH | March 5, 2009
Jewel! I know your upset about not being able to compete, but! You will just fine!
Leslii | March 5, 2009
Jewel, I am so sorry you have been injured! I am so bummed we won't see you compete this season. Your dedication and love for this experience really made me excited for you and Ty. I hope that once you feel better that you continue your dance, maybe with a little less intensity. :P I will be cheering for and voting fo Chelsie and Ty!!! Your blog made me even more of a fan when i discovered it once you joined DWTS. You are truly lovely, down to earth and talented! Feel better!
lovestodance | March 5, 2009
Total Bummer! But your right, your health is more important! It's too bad, I was really excited but I will still root TY on! Hopefully you will get to compete in one of the following years! Relax and Enjoy watching Ty for now! Love ya!
Kali_Jean | March 5, 2009
I am so sorry to hear. I know how disappointed you must feel. But I think it is great how you mention the bright sides of it all (no long term damage and you can cheer Ty on!) You have such a strong spirit that I doubt something like this will keep you down for long. LOVE&PEACE
juliat2000_1231694748 | March 5, 2009
How disappointed we all are that we won't get to see you strut your stuff, Jewel. It would have been a blast.
If you get to come back next year, you'll have all that time to practice with Ty until then. Like he said, slow and steady.
But by then, you could be dancing with a baby.
Good luck with whatever comes your way.
You'll always be in our thoughts.
Take care,
Jay

Jewel,
Please get checked for early onset osteoporosis. It is extremely rare for someone of your age to fracture both legs unless he/she is involved in a serious accident (like a motorcycle crash). To your health!
miko | March 5, 2009
Hey J! With the life you've led, you come out a winner, no matter what. You gave dancing everything you had, maybe too much, and you're better for it. Take care of yourself, we need you intact, we want to hear and see your adventures for our collective lifetimes. I know you want to be a Mommy, just think of the profound joy it will bring you and Ty. Give some effort in to not feeling so disappointed about dancing.(Easy for me to say).I mean it, you know you are adored, appreciated, admired, respected and loved for being you, always. You rest up, you gotta lotta living to do. Tell me sometime, did you like the Robert Plant sampler I gave you with "Moonlight in Samosa", that gorgeous ballad, with the spanish guitar style. Plant is my all time fav male singer. Who do you think my fav female singer is? She was born in Payson, Utah on May 23, 1974. I've been doing my studying, I just find you fascinating. We just had a foot of snow here in NY while you guys were having a bbq.

You will say i gave 1000% to my dancing.

I know your bummed and i am sad that your sad, but hun your health and body is more important. I am sure their is a silver linning in the grey cloud that is yet to be revealed.

jmykL83 | March 5, 2009
Jewel dearest!
I told you along with other fans to take it easy! If you won't listen to your husband, then at least listen to your fans. I'm so sorry for your
injuries. I don't want you to suffer further, so PLEASE TAKE IT EASY! Also, you DON'T have to show up at every performance if you're in pain. We KNOW you'll be watching at home and do know we'll be rootin' for Ty as well! You and Nancy are the only reasons I would've watched DWTS this season as it has become such a drag these past seasons. You were the HOPE and LIFE of the show
and would've brought back the excitement it had during it's first run. Thank you so much just the same for your hard work and dedication! Get more calcium and Vit D!
Please come back next season. I never really expected you to have accepted if offered, knowing your concerts and songwriting would be compromised for 3 months. Just REST and know you're
loved...BIG TIME!
rudemon | March 5, 2009
WOW,2 fractured legs,i hope you will be OK ,i feel bad for you and your partner,Maybe God wants you to rest for a reason.I dont beleive i can send healing energy, but beleive in prayer,so i will do that, and support Ty...Dancing must be alot harder than i thaught, but as you said your muscles were fatigued.which put pressure on the bones..God Bless You,and hope you have a speedy recovery...
Elvis | March 5, 2009
HOLY MACKEREL!
Well miss jewel, if you didn't feel loved before...i hope that you do now. If you don't now, I can't imagine what it would take.
Never watched DWTS and would only have watched to see you kick butt BUT now I might peak to see Ty dance. He's got a bull's set to do go through with it. I can't think of anything I could do to get my husband to be on the show - not one thing.
Dancing twists your knees different than running - you must have some threshold for pain - the good and the bad of it.
I hope you heal quickly and are comfortable.
Wasn't meant to be! Can't tell you why...
Take care.
tfboss | March 5, 2009
That's sounds horrible! I'm sure you are just awe struck trying your hardest gets you further away from your goal! I hope you heal fast! But we will still be watching! My hubby wants to see if Ty takes his hat off lol! He wouldn't pass up seeing his favorite bull rider out of his element. Take care!
BlessedH | March 5, 2009
But what hurts the most is that they are replacing you with that double-scoop of skank from Girls Next Door, Holly! WTF?
Weezy | March 6, 2009
On one hand it's sad to hear that you are hurting. But on the other hand, I won't have to watch the show now. Hope you are feeling better. And hope to see you back here in SD CA soon - B
Brad | March 6, 2009
I knew it was too good to be true...I'm so sorry about your knees. Hope you are feeling better soon. I know this has to be difficult for you to not be able to share this with Ty. This Holly character is no replacement for you...but then again...no one could ever replace you! You really have some amazing fans and I know there are a lot of people pulling for you to get better quickly. I hope we get to see you in the near future on DWTS. Take care, Zahna
ZAHNA | March 6, 2009

melkorpi | March 6, 2009
I'm so sad to hear you won't be taking part in the show Jewel. I was so looking forward to seeing you dance & basically that was all I was gonna watch the show for. Well if you look on the bright side, at least you're album will be out soon for everyone to enjoy.
Get better soon Jewel! Take care we love you xx

Ouchie wa wa!!!! When I saw the pics of your feet, I was like OMG no way, that is way too much!!! I hope you are feeling better and take it easy sitting out in our nice warm Texas sun, let the sun soak in your bones and get stronger-Remember, things happen for a reason, I'm sure this is a sign for when you do get pregnant it won't be a strain on you-we will be rooting on Ty of course.

Sorry to hear of your injuries, Jewel :( I guess when you go from never dancing to making it a daily activity, you are bound to feel the pain of it all. I was looking forward to watching you compete and I know that you are disappointed that you can't join Ty in the fun of it all. But now we'll just have to cheer him on instead! Although we're all still cheering for you in a different way and hoping that your new lullaby album does well :) I can't wait for the release of it so that I can take in more of your beautiful voice and music! Take care and get some rest and relaxation! You deserve it :D And don't be so hard on yourself! You certainly gave dancing your best shot! CC XO

So sorry to hear about your injuries Jewel. Wow, both knees huh? I dislocated my left knee back in 2002 and felt like i was gonna die i was in so much pain. Can't imagine both knees being fractured! But just like all the other fans out there, I still plan to watch, and I, too, will vote for Ty every week!

So sorry to hear about your injury.I was at your show last night at San Manuel...what a great show! I loved the setlist, and that you took requests!I loved to hear your stories and your answers to the questions people asked. Overall a very nice show...although it was a far drive for me I thought it was totally worth it. Can't wait to see you at Hollywood Bowl.

First I just want to say that i'm a huge fan of your craft! You are absolutely my favorite singer of all time! Their is just such an ora about your music and such a wonderful poise you bring to the entertainment business! Such a joy! Thank you and please continue to be FABULOUS!!!
OK so as soon as I heard you and Ty were going to be on DWTS, I was like YES!!! Something to watch!!! I was really excited to see you both dance! I told my husband that I hoped that when it got to the end it would be just You vs Ty!!! I thought heck ya that'd be awesome!
Well I'm really sorry to hear that you had gotten hurt. Its a real bummer for the show bc i'm sure a lot of people would be watching just for you!!!
Everything happens for a reason right?!!! Not really sure why the good lord wouldn't want you in it! We'll miss you~
Keep your spirits high! And get some well deserved R and R while you route Ty on!!!

mickiemouse | March 6, 2009
What a bummer! I am so sad for you (and me since I really wanted to watch you dance).
Be careful with your knees, you only get two free ones. Keep in the best of health- and keep your bone strength and calcium up. Once you start making a baby they leach the calcium right out of you.
summerofglory | March 6, 2009
I know that has to suck! But, even with a bum knee you totally rocked at San Miguel last night!!
My best frien's father died just yesterday morning from cancer, but I decided to still go to the concert for a pick-me-up, but then you broke out "Violet Eyes." Water works, but thanks for touching my heart. I wish I could take that song to my friend this weekend. Hope you'll put it out soon.
Your voice was amazing!! Heal fast.

Hi Jewel,
Sorry to hear the injury was more serious than first thought. Disappointing? Yes, but gotta be a sliver lining somewhere...
I must admit i wasn't keen on watching the show, but for YOU of course!!
How 'bout the DWTS folks letcha sing a song or 2? Now that would be sweet justice. Also you'll have some extra time for writing/composing.
Anywayz, you are in my thoughts; wishing you a speedy recovery and we all know you'll be back and an even stronger woman for it.

What is wrong with the two of you??? Jewel wanted to learn something new and do something fun with her husband. She has been writing and singing all of her life - is that where it ends? Is that all she gets to do? I really don't believe she is doing it for the fame...why would she? She has fame. She knows how to write, paint and sing. She wanted to learn to dance!
tfboss | March 6, 2009
Oh yes...Dr. Phil the prophet.
Jewel has evolved since pieces and changed where every single album has a different sound. She has given her fans different music for the changes in her life and in our world as well. What other artist has gone out of their comfort zone to create different albums for different moods like she has? I can't think of one. If you don't like it, that is certainly your opinion and everyone has one...
This is not naivity speaking - just a differing opinion and I hate to see bashing on this website. If you don't like the new music, find a new idol - there will be plenty of us left who still do.
tfboss | March 6, 2009
Loyal since POY...true fan who doesn't bash Jewel for trying new things and releasing various styles of music. It's what is so admirable about her. So lovely to see Jewel bashing on her own site.

WOW,,,this is strange,i agree with Sandy,Jewel doing DWTS with her husband, maybe having some fun and unfortunately a little to much hard work.Dont see anything wrong with that.I beleive its a real show, which is competitive.I beleive Emmit Smith won it one yr...A Football Player, and a great one at that...

I'm new to your blog & love reading about your life...challenges, triumphs and all! It's wonderfully refreshing to see you speak so openly here. And now I don't have to wait anxiously for a new cd or book to get inspired by your words =)
You shouldn't be disappointed about "Dancing" - sounds like you put everything you had into it. Be proud & stand tall (even if that means you have to use the crutches for support)!

"Starved For Fame", "Dancing for Relevance", "Music Sucks Dirty Ass"?
Who the hell are these people making these remarks? The bigger question is...Where the hell have they been, and how can you call yourselves TRUE Jewel fans?
I mean, Hello, are you not aware she had a CD that debuted at #1 on the Country Charts last year? A single called "Stronger Woman" that broke the Top 15 on the Country Billboard Charts? Her CD knocked Taylor Swift out of the Number one spot for Christ sakes!!!
How more RELEVANT can she be? But, then again, you are probably one of those fans, that screams out "Hands" or "Meant For You" when she takes requests at her concert. Unaware that she has had 5 albums since Pieces of You and Spirit.
Look, what it boils down to is that if you are not pushing yourself as an artist, your standing still.
Would you rather see her on DWTS or Shit Smearing Crazy like Britney was? LOL
Weezy | March 7, 2009
PleaseDaddyDont,
I am so glad that you wrote this last entry b/c it finally clarified exactly where you were coming from and it sounded more like criticism (which can be constructive) as opposed to bashing. If you listen to Good Bye Alice in Wonderland, Jewel addresses exactly what you speak of. Her career has spanned from her being a teenager to her mid thirties - what person can look back in that time frame and say they didn't make any choices they wished they hadn't? Choices are rarely clearly right or wrong...one choice just leads to another. Was 0304 my favorite album by Jewel? Certainly not but the next album that she released was nothing like it either so to say she continued on a path and lost all of the fans she had established with Pieces of You and Spirit, I feel is naive.

Hi Jewel,
Take care! Take a good rest, because later on you might regret it. I am now suffering from a broken leg, from 4 and a half years ago. My nerve has died and didn't recover. So please be carefull that you recover for 100%. Than you can do this also for 1000%!
Lots of love!
Paula

I personally liked 0304. "2 Become 1", "2 Find U", and "Fragile Heart" are some of my favorite Jewel songs.
There's no secret about 0304. Jewel said herself that it was the last album she did under contract with Atlantic Records. They wanted dance/Pop, so she gave it to them, with her spin. She used an accordian for christs sake, and had a number hit with it! C'mon, now give me break.
I agree that Spirit was simply an amazing album. But 0304 has it place. As does, This Way, Alice In Wonderland, and Perfectly Clear.
But look, 0304 was done in 2004....you need to move on.
And say what you want my fair weather fan, I think Jewel is a lyrical genius. I love, and own, ALL of her albums.
Naive? Maybe. Devoted? Absolutely!

Rest up! We will eagerly await your return to Dancing with the Stars! There is no doubt in my mind that when your time comes, you will rock!
Acilia14remo | March 7, 2009
I find it extremely rude that people choose to say such negative things about Jewel on her own blog. She was loving DWTS while it lasted. Both her and Ty were excited to do this together as well. Giving people some flexibility for change is a part of life. So what if she chose to do DWTS to broaden her fan base? I have always liked Jewel, but now I have become much more of a fan because of this blog, which I never would have found if she wasn't on DWTS. Jewel, please let yourself heal and I hope you the best!
lovestodance | March 7, 2009
I am sooooooo tired of the 0304 bashing. Move on already. I was just as lyric driven as all of her other brilliant works.
Keep mixing it up, doing fun reality shows, touring, dancing and having fun being a "learning junkie!" Don't listen to this negativity. Cos we love everything you do since your San Diego days :)
Leapbaby | March 7, 2009
I agree with Sandy!!!
Don't you people have anything better to do than to come on Jewel's site and bash her?! Goodness....
AshleyLauren | March 7, 2009
Awww I feel sorry for you Jewel, you put soo much effort on preparing from the show! :(
and its a shame that happened to you!
I hope you get better soon!!
:)

HELLO I HOPE YOUR FEELING BETTER YOUR THE BEST!!!!!!
duaanne | March 7, 2009
Well believe me, HONEY,
saying her album "Sucks Dirty Ass" and calling us un-intelligent sycophants neither makes you superior or appreciated....but keep trying.
Weezy | March 7, 2009
Hi Jewel:
I had to come back and let another comment.
After reading some other comments I was really sad and I think I felt the same way (well... you surely felt it worser) as you. About all this bashing at you.
I won´t start a fight in here and won´t anser any provocation, but I just wanna say that "Bashing" is not the same as a "constructive point of view".
Because you can say you don´t like something, but there should die any other comment.
Now again to you Jewel. I hope your legs get well soon!!!
I know a lot of fractures because of the football players of my team, they ever get hurt and they have to take it easy for some months. But they ever recover, so HAVE HOPE!!!
I have see a video in YouTube of you singing with Chelsie "Hands", so sweet!!!
Let George and Ty make you some cresses, that with love you will be sooner standing without crutches!!!
LOVE blessed you, my dear!!!
P.S. Let me say to you that I tottaly get 0304 and the lyrics are so DAMN clever!
Kari | March 7, 2009
Jewel, Sooo sorry to hear about your fractures! Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Was looking forward to the competition between you & Ty.
Saw you for the first time last summer when you were with the Paisley tour in Holmdel, NJ. Please return to the Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, NJ.

Jewel that's sad to hear you can participate in Dancing with the Stars, right now because of your leg injury.I was really looking forward to seeing you on tv, and beating your husband, hey. But I do hope to see you later on in the season of Dancing with the Stars, because again like I said I would like you to beat your husband, to show him what a strong person you are. You go girl!!
SRaleigh | March 7, 2009
Aww, I was so looking forward to seeing more of you. My friends and I will still faithfully tune it to cheer on Ty throughout the season. I pray that you heal well from your injuries. At least this way you'll have more time to write you're awesome music!
bless | March 7, 2009
OMG! I'm so sorry!
But I'm glad to hear u will have not permanent injuries.

Renderwarrior | March 7, 2009

Hiya,
We've been getting some mail requesting some comments be removed by our moderator team, so I just want to reply on it. Opinions both positive and negative are welcome here. The only comments ever removed have fallen into 3 basic categories-----1)if a site member disrespects other site members with insults or attacks of a personal or religious nature.----2)If incorrect information is posted on tour dates, contests, merchandise, etc.-----3) if multiple posts contain the same content over and over. This usually happens by mistake (submit button frenzy) but has occurred out of anger a few times.----- Otherwise, as long as you reasonably respect each other and generally stay on topic, opinions and comments both positive and negative are welcome in the blogs and the message boards. Alan

There's some pretty hurtful words in the above posts. Yikes!
I think a lot of us have been confused and perhaps even felt betrayed by some of the choices Jewel has made. But some people actually grow up and mature from the time they are a teenager until their 30's. Although different from what we were hoping for, 0304 was a great album. It took me a little while to warn up to Alice, but now I think it is great.
Dancing on the show was a great opportunity to do something fun. While she wants her work to be successful, I highly doubt Jewel is desperate for popularity. And yes, she is allowed to learn a new art form whenever she pleases. I think most of us were excited to see her dance. She would be great!

To PleaseDaddyDont:
You are welcome here like everyone else, but you just reminded us of one thing I neglected to mention in my previous comment. One cannot create/have a pornographic avatar here. Beyond the obvious respect for others issue, this is an all ages site and it will not be tolerated. We see you've just changed it so yours is ok again, but if you defy that rule again or test the limits on that issue, all your posts will indeed be nuked.
MrBB | March 8, 2009
Not to belabor the point but the following exerpt is what started all of the back and forth.
"Now you're doing Dancing For Relevance and you don't give a shit anymore. Your music sucks on dirty ass."
This is way beyond constructive criticism and I feel it is bashing. If you don't want to be called a "jewel basher" perhaps you should choose what you post more carefully.
Elvis plays devil's advocate all of the time and it certainly gets discussions going but this post quoted above crossed a line that made it offensive.
tfboss | March 8, 2009
Is it wrong of me to think that this "snaggle" person and this "please daddy" person and really the same person who has two different accounts? Their info says that they're both from Beverly Hills, and they always "happen" to post at the exact same time. That is hilarious if I'm right....
AshleyLauren | March 8, 2009
PDD - Well we should all thank god for that! Especially since you are writing from Ireland...
tfboss | March 8, 2009
PleaseDaddyDont & SnaggleLover....The Clive Davis and Tommy Mottola of Jewel's Blog. I love it.
Weezy | March 8, 2009
LOL to Davidnhmd. I was waiting for a response from Jewel....so glad we got one!! :D
AshleyLauren | March 8, 2009
And Jewel's response was spot on! Love her even more...if that is even possible!
Leapbaby | March 8, 2009
SNAGGLELOVER and PLEASEDON'TDADDY need to shut the hell up. you're obviously not real jewel fans, we can tell by your usernames. why don't you two do something more productive with your lives.
yanalove | March 8, 2009
I personally LOVE 03/04 as well as her other efforts. I think it's great she's so versatile!
So sorry you hurt yourself Jewel. I hope you're better soon and get to come back to go DWTS next season!
DaidyCat | March 8, 2009
The ad hominem comments were quite inappropriate. Shame on the two posters who disrespected Jewel with such crude language and insults. Jewel's music is woven into her soul, disrespecting her music is pretty personal. You certainly don't have to be a fan of all her work, but respect is deserved.
lovestodance | March 9, 2009
I think you both missed Jewel's message altogether.
What she said was, She's been criticized her whole career, and that she don't care what you or any other critic thinks. She makes music and career choices that follow her core values, and that make her heart sing. If you like fine. If you don't, PITY! I will repeat, AGAIN, that 0304 was released 4 YEARS AGO!!! You need to get over it.
Now, can we please move past this? This topic is sooooo done. And I'm soooo over you two.
Go blog about Sinead O'Connor. She's Irish, isn't she?
Weezy | March 9, 2009
Sorry to hear about your legs. I hope you recover fast. I will be rooting for Ty!
Aja | March 13, 2009
WOW I have been busy for a few days and did not get a chance to pop in to see what has been happening . I see I have missed a lot. Dear Jewel, I am a new fan, read about you on the PBR web site last christmas. My neice sydney introduced me to you via you tube. That is where I found your music. I was an instant fan. My mother is an even bigger fan. I am not sure how all this chatter bagan, some of it a little colorful, some very rude, I admit I have not heard all you songs or CD/s in sequience, so I'm not sure how much you have changed. Question, Are all you CD/s available on your web site and if not could they be in the future? In the mean time I will say, I like you and what you stand for, values, honesty. You remind me of a Robert Frost story, the one about two roads that devulged in a yellow woods, I think is how it goes. You have had to choose many paths. but the point of Frost's story is that the other path is always there waiting to walked down. Thatke care Jewel.

I'm here to alert anyone w/ mysterious tendinitis (and other symptoms) that there is an ANTIBIOTIC that may cause severe, non-abating tendon, muscle, joint, cartilage, organ and tissue damage/pain due to it's TOXICITY. These so-called man-made ANTIBIOTICS "work" by destroying healthy DNA!! They are in a class called FLUOROQUINOLONES and include CIPRO(Ciprofloxacin),LEVAQUIN (Levofloxacin),AVELOX(Moxifloxacin)and others of this class. The FDA has recently been SUED to put a Black-Box Warning on Fluoroquinolone Antibiotics, but these warnings are only the tip of the iceberg as these antibiotics cause multiple-system damage!! And in most cases, the adverse effects are never linked to the drug itself. The FDA, the drug manufacturers and the medical community are hiding the TRUTH and the SERIOUSNESS of this urgent medical issue. More than 50% of the Fluoroquinolones have already been REMOVED from the market. The rest are hurting innocent victims! VISIT FQRESEARCH.ORG FQVICTIMS.ORG
Shells | March 16, 2009
Please get a message to Jewel to check her medical records to see if she has been a victim of FLUOROQUINOLONE ANTIBIOTIC POISONING. THIS IS REAL. WIKI it. I belong to advocacy group working to spread awareness and get these drugs(antibiotics) off the market!! Although the ADR's are numerous, the most prevalent is TENDINITIS, esp the KNEES and achilles tendon. Please visit FQResearch.org or just SEARCH the TOXICITY of FLUOROQUINOLONE ANTIBIOTICS Cipro, Levaquin, Avelox are a few of this toxic class!! You may delete this message....I only wish Jewel to check her medical records. We are out in full force on the internet...I do not wish to post about this here...just concerned for Jewel. Thank you.....
