Happy New Year!!
Posted in From Jewel on January 5, 2009
Hi everyone!
Hope your holidays were good, and Happy New Year!! I had a relaxing holiday at home, and also got to start work on my lullaby album. Man, I think you guys are gonna like this one. Its mostly just solo acoustic and original songs, with a few covers like Somewhere Over The Rainbow. It may end up being one of my favorites! Recording at home is sooooo nice- its relaxed, more creative, and because I don't have to think about having a "hit single" I really feel free to just do whatever tickles my fancy!!! I will slip you a rough cut of something soon.
Right now, I'm on a plane to LA to host a segment for the People's Choice Awards. I am going to help a winner with a free make over, it should be fun! A funny thing happened the other day as I was trying to "get ready" for the show, I will write a separate blog on that later.
Other than that, I'm not up to too much- just getting ready for my solo acoustic tour dates- I can't wait to see u guys out there!!
Talk soon and take care,
xxj

The holidays were great and am glad to hear y'alls were too!! The new album sounds excellent; nice idea.. listening to Angel Standing By as i type this. Thanks again for keeping us posted and i'll see you on the 25th!!
Whatever you decide to put on the album i am sure will be wonderful. Honestly, i'd probably pay to hear you sing the phone book. The fact its your words, your thoughts makes it all the better.

Your music and the person you are -especially your sobriety and need to go inward (daily), has given me so much strength (to do the same). That balance of my spirit is so precious to me. I so look forward to your lullaby's Jewel and to see you sing in real time, yet again.

i so looking forward to ur cd or what ever ur heart wishes to pour
i will not bog u down with such a long reply this time. I just wanted you to know that my video is getting lots of hits more then i thought and i set up on my site a part about you and your projects like clean water and many have donated to help you out in ur mission and vision.
I figure i love u and respect u but talk is cheap i rather show u my gratitude and embody it to you in a unique unorthodox way. I did also send my project camelot crystal child interview to your mother on myspace but am unsure if she saw it.
enclosed is a little poem
Spies
I find that when ever I sit and relax writing the will of my will
Oh what a hunger I have to share with all of humanity
They will inherit my will
As I sit with this happy thought I feel I am not alone
I open one eye to see animals of all sorts
Sitting still and eaves dropping off of my silence
I see a cat adjusting its
Its eyes look like a sophisticated camera to me
There is a hawk above me with hears of a highly advanced microphone that is yet to be invented. One that can pick up all levels of sound
A spider sits in her web
I see she does not worry about shaving her legs
As the hairs on her legs prick up
She is picking up the subtle vibrations of my thoughts, feelings and wonder.
When I leave no doubt she will make a trek underground to document what she picked up off me.
I am getting this huge feeling lately when I am in the present of any animals that they are silent monitors.
There satellite is in tack in touch with source
Everything we do is being documented with their subtle camouflage ways
They are creations spies.
Is all Earth like the Truemen show?
Nice read something from you. I´m glad that yourholidaays were fine. I had also a wonderful time,my dad came to visit me for the holidays!
I´m glad to hear that you feel more free and comfortable making the album at home, It would be refreshing to hear something out of the great studio!!!
Hope you keep fine and take care
LOVE blessed you,Kari
I have a good friend who is a singer-composer and she records her songs in her studio at home. Sometimes she also sells her songs to celebrities in our country. I remember she recorded a lullabye song , and it was the sweetest song she had ever produced, in my opinion, the musical arrangement was perfect. And not long enough ( after a year), she gave birth to her first child. She and her husband had waited to have a baby for almost 8 years.
I love the way you love your craft and your intuitive way of doing it so perfectly. The timing is right, I could intuitively say; it will not be long, you will have your first child and you will sing to her your sweetest lullabye. “Days and nights will pass me by, I love to hold you in my arms...This is my song, a lullabye for you...” :D
I love new and old songs accoustic !! Can't wait for your Lullaby LP. Best wishes to you and TY. Love's Y'all.

I hope 2009 is a good one for you and Ty.
Your music is always colorful because you make it come from a special place.
I would love to hear you do something with an orchestra, George Martin style!
Any chance of a down under acoustic tour? :)(Adelaide please)
Really looking forward to your version of Rainbow.
Cheers to you, Jules.
How about, one day:
BIG BAND JEWEL!
that could be cool!.....
I hope you and your family have a fantastic 2009, with healt and love!
I am just enjoying your dvd, again, like I enjoy it everyday!
I am looking forward or hearing and seeing you live in Merrillville! I hope all goes well, because I have to travel from Europe to see you then, so I don't get a second chance to see or hear you live. And it's a long years dream!
I also bring you a typical Dutch present and a typical German present, becaus I life there now, but I am a Dutch girl. I hope you will like it.
Lots of love from me and take care!
My jaw dropped at the news of the lullaby album! Last night while we were sitting down at dinner, I decided to put on your Spirit album. I looked at my husband and said, "Remember how Ethan (our eldest son who is 8 now) would cry nonstop some days and we would have to drive around town trying to calm him? Then we finally figured out that it was the sound of Jewel's voice that settled him and he would drift off to sleep." Ethan had never heard that story before, so I went into further detail about how he would become very still and turn his head slightly so he could really listen. His mouth would form a soft-O-shape and he could coo. Basically, he was enchanted.
I wanted to see if I could leave a note on here (my very first visit to your site) and just thank you for your invaluable help during the colicky days of when Ethan was a babe. Then when I read about the lullaby album, of course nothing could make any better sense to me. Wonderful!
Best regards, Tae Scott-Smith
Had to leave just one more note, but it's important. Ethan is a patient at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis and I am aware that you do a lot to support them. Thank you so much for bringing awareness and funding to the hospital that has helped save our son and so many other children.
Ethan was found to have a malignant brain tumor, medulloblastoma, in the fall of 2007. Through early discovery, complete removal of the tumor, and the treatments at St. Jude, Ethan has a very hopeful outlook. We are so grateful to St. Jude and will spend our lives helping them to work towards saving others faced with the cancer beast.
So, from calming him as a baby and helping him in his cure, you've actually done so much to help someone whom you've never met. Thank you very much.
If you'd like to read about Ethan's journey, you can go to caringbridge.org and type in: ethanscottsmith Your name will not appear unless you leave a message, so identity is confidential.

I know you must be busy so I will keep this as short as possible. My name is Adam Colone. I am a 28 year old teacher in Utica, NY and am taking my girlfriend Sarah to see you February 5th for the first time at the Turning Stone Casino because you are her favorite artist. She is so excited!!! Sarah is a beautiful person inside and out, the love of my life, and I want to spend the rest of my life with her. I was hoping you could dedicate a song to her from me at your show where I can ask her to marry me! I think that you can make this even more of a special and unforgettable night for her and I. If this is too cheesey of an idea or not possible please let me know. I will not be offended.
Thank you so much for your time, and I hope everything is well!

Are there going to be more dates for this tour or is that it? I know you obviously can't respond to everyone but I would love to see you live again. I love music and have been to 33 concerts in my life (I am 24) but never have I heard someone live sound better and more crystal clear than you. Keep singing/writing that music and I will keep buying.
Good Luck on your tour!
I´d love to listen to your new solo!
I am from Argentina!!! Hope it comes here soon!!!
I am on my holidays right now! And, as i broke my knee twoo months ago, and i am supposed to stay at home and not to do too much activity I listen to your music over and over!
Kisses
With love from, Lucy and Tommy
Happy New Year and when are you coming to the San Francisco Bay Area. We love your music!!!
Also, I have your firesuit from the Gillette Young Guns Celebrity series and was wondering if I could get you to autograph it. I would be happy to make a donation to the organization of your choice. Let me know what you think.
